Keynote Session: “Overcoming the Unthinkable” Presented by Capt. Scott O’Grady
Sponsored by Multiquip
Capt. Scott O’Grady’s incredible true-life struggle to survive in hostile territory made headlines and inspired millions. Now he’ll share his tale of courage, faith and quick thinking at The Rental Show.

As a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, O’Grady was helping enforce the NATO no-fly zone policy in the skies over Bosnia during June 1995 when a Soviet-made anti-aircraft missile slammed into his F-16.  Alone — facing death, capture and the elements — he discovered within himself the spirit to go on for six days before being rescued by the U.S. Marines. O’Grady’s life-and-death story is a compelling example of how to adapt, change and succeed even under the most daunting and trying of circumstances — a moving example for anyone facing tough odds.

Originally from Brooklyn, N.Y., Scott O'Grady is an accomplished Air Force pilot with more than 1,300 military flying hours. His book about his experience in Bosnia, Return With Honor, spent six weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. In addition, O’Grady’s courageous story has been documented on the Discovery Channel’s Behind Enemy Lines, and he was featured on CNN’s Voices of the Millennium and Then and Now, a series that focuses on the most influential personalities of the past 25 years. He now serves as a spokesperson for the Save Ellis Island campaign (www.WeAreEllisIsland.org).

The keynote session also will include the induction ceremony for the Rental Hall of Fame; results from the 2008 State of the Equipment Rental Industry Report from ARA CEO Christine Wehrman and President John Crabbe Jr., CERP; and the passing of the president’s gavel to current President-Elect Buddy Stubbs.
