For the past five years, the ARA Foundation charity auction has been a staple during The Rental Show and provided both attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to support the Foundation and its programs. The sixth annual auction will be the main entertainment during the Reception With a Purpose on Feb. 7 in New Orleans. This live auction is fast-paced and conducted by Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, which also sponsors the auction. This year, 33 items have been donated by 30 exhibitors. The auction items are a mixture of equipment as well as items including a trip to the John Deere Classic PGA Tournament, tickets to a suite for a Milwaukee Brewers game, a reproduction Harley-Davidson gas pump, an iPad 2, a case of wine and more. Allied Financial Solutions, a financing company that exhibits at The Rental Show, is offering six-months-same-as-cash financing for auction items. If you’re unable to attend The Rental Show, you can still bid in the charity auction by submitting a proxy bid on the items of your choosing. You determine the maximum amount you are willing to spend for a particular auction item, then your bid will be placed for you during the live auction in New Orleans. If you are the top bidder, you will be contacted once The Rental Show is over to complete the purchase transaction.
