Opening Session Using Your Inventory in New and Exciting Ways (Begins with sit-down breakfast at 7:45 a.m.) |
Presented by Scott Corridan
Sponsored by Tentnology
Let’s face it — with client budgets and operating expenses what they are today, there sometimes isn’t any extra cash to reinvest in your inventory of visual properties. So what happens when those white rice paper parasols begin to yellow? Or the mirrored squares on the disco ball start to pop out? Or your supply of glass charger plates has dwindled, but the remaining ones are still in great shape?
It’s time to rise to the creative challenge at hand and — without spending anything but human currency — use your hard-won inventory of props in a newly expanded, ever-evolving manner. In this session, designer Scott Corridan will show you how to “pop” the parasol in a pleasantly surprising way and turn flowers on their heads. He’ll also bring new sheen to a disco ball, shred some finer linens, burn a different kind of wax and use those charger plates in a new, take-charge way — all with boundless energy and enthusiasm. These aren’t your mother’s props!
Southern California native Scott Corridan studied architecture at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He established Corridan and Co. Design Studios in 1994. Over the past 13 years, he has designed weddings, special events and fundraising celebrations for more than 1,000 clients in locations from Los Angeles to London. His celebrations have been published in Martha Stewart Weddings, InStyle and InStyle Weddings, Brides magazine and many others. Corridan’s work also has appeared on The Travel Channel, Entertainment Tonight, ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Wedding Edition and the Style Network. Most recently, he has been featured as one of the 11 contestants on season two of HGTV’s Design Star. www.corridanandco.com
